Master class on volumetric paintings made of leather - Himself a master - Mirtesen media platform

Paintings made of leather are far from new creativity, although it cannot be called widespread either. And the point here is not that it is complex, on the contrary. The rare occurrence of such crafts is easily explained by their non-universality. They may look beautiful on their own, but within the framework of this or that interior they will stand out with a thorn. Such compositions fit only into the natural decor of the room.

Process of creation

To work out any composition of this kind of leather, you will need the following materials: directly, the leather itself, canvas on a frame or on cardboard, possibly acrylic paints, if you want to paint leather, brushes, glue, sharp scissors and a penknife. You can use oil paints, but, unlike acrylic paints, which dry in a matter of minutes, the oil can dry for several days, which will stop the whole process for a long time.

Master class on volumetric paintings from leather

You can either purchase leather separately or use a raincoat that is lying around in your wardrobe for the benefit of creativity. The main thing is that the material is relatively suitable, with a uniform surface.

Painting elements

Leather paintings are composite compositions, not whole compositions. First, a simple sketch is made. Larger elements are made on it and immediately applied to the canvas of the picture.

Next comes the series of medium-sized and small elements.

The easiest way for beginners to work on floral arrangements, landscapes and still lifes are much more difficult.

Considering that the theme of our composition is flowers, it should be borne in mind that each flower is also a prefabricated craft, consisting of individual elements - petals, stems and leaves. All this will have to be cut out separately and meticulously put together. To make things easier for yourself, you can use your own stencils.

First, prepare leather petals for each flower.

If you want to achieve maximum realism and similarity to real flowers, the petals must be held over an open fire so that they become convex. It is also appropriate to scratch the strips with a hot needle.

Leaves are made according to the same principle.

After all the elements are ready and processed, proceed to staining. The paint can be applied in several layers and approaches, simulating the transitions of tones and light and dark areas.

The assembly of a flower from leather depends on what kind of flower it is. So, for a simple chamomile, it is enough to sew or glue the core, but in the complex version, all the petals are glued or sewn to the base, and then the junction is hidden under the core.

In the case of a rose, the assembly of a flower begins with a core, to which petals are gradually and proportionally added.

It is better to work with glue, rather than stitch the composition. This will make it more tidy. Use a quick-drying glue made specifically for working with leather.

When all the elements are worked out, it's time to transfer them to the canvas, also gluing them. Before that, you can draw something on the canvas, for example, the same flowers, or simply cover it with a layer of light acrylic, making a background.

Leather can also act as a background. It can be used to cover the canvas.

Use the following photo for an example of creating different flowers and leaves.

Leather is one of the best materials for paintings.

What kind of paintings did the masters learn to make? We're not going to talk about the classic ones painted with paints. In order for a picture to bloom on a flat surface of the canvas, you can use a wide variety of materials, which is what hardworking needlewomen use. When you want to make a picture from pieces of natural leather, it is no longer surprising. Leather is an excellent material that lends itself well to coloring, elastic, light - all the qualities of excellent initial data for a do-it-yourself masterpiece.

The first and most ancient version of a picture made of pieces of leather can be confidently called a panel. This is a flat painting in which parts of the leather pieces can be complemented by spectacular oil strokes. You can generally use a piece of leather as a basis for a future painting. The natural drawing of the canvas itself will tell you what to focus on, what to look for when applying paints.

You can use both acrylic and oil paints, the skin perfectly accepts any. Stretch a piece of leather over the plywood and start filling the space with small pieces of leather of different colors and textures. You can also use fur details along with flat pieces of leather. This technique can be attributed to the style of "primitivism", it is very convenient for children to work with it, moving pieces of skin, they can have fun playing mosaic. Add colored laces to round and square pieces - the picture immediately comes to life and becomes more interesting. Landscapes made using this technique look very beautiful.

More complex volumetric paintings are created by shaping the pieces of skin. Burning, starching or heat treatment - you can create not only beautiful flowers and plants, but also amazing figures of people and animals. For such works, you can use skin of the same color (you get monochrome pictures). You can work in this technique with leather of different textures, for example, leather and suede of the same color perfectly complement each other and create amazing combinations.

To enhance the effect of the picture, it is necessary to take leather of different colors: volumetric pictures from lacquer, suede and embossed pieces are just great. To further add brightness to the picture, individual parts of the leather pieces can be tinted with paints. An incredibly beautiful bouquet of unprecedented flowers will bloom before you, the splendor of the Garden of Eden or an unearthly civilization will appear - just a few pieces of skin and your bold imagination are needed.

It is best to use colorless glue. Do not try to take too expensive glue, which instantly seizes the material, it can damage the structure of the skin. The result will be disastrous - some of the paintings are hopelessly ruined. Since it is difficult to choose a place in the house where dust would never settle, try to place your masterpiece not at the very entrance in order to protect it from drafts at least a little. It is very difficult to remove dust from small details of the picture, if there is such an opportunity - install a thin frame and glass, so you will preserve the beauty of the picture for a long time.

Please note that the skin can suffer from ultraviolet radiation; it is not advisable to place the picture in direct sunlight. The skin does not like damp rooms very much; mold may appear in the picture. And yet, it is a picture made of pieces of leather that will perfectly fit into any room, because there is nothing more beautiful than natural materials, and working with them is just a pleasure.

A do-it-yourself leather panel can be made from a variety of ideas and fantasies. For example, make a vine. It will look very interesting and original in the interior of your home.

As a result of this master class, the technique of processing in an artistic way will be mastered, you can learn to treat work with a creative approach, develop your imagination, as well as imagination, and in general, enjoy the process on a psycho-emotional level. The resulting panel can be used to decorate the interior of the room.

Genuine leather is a great type of material for making crafts. It has plastic properties, it is quite pliable and durable. The process of working with her is quite exciting, which will really please both adults and children. Where can I get it? This can be, for example, a leather coat, a skirt, old unnecessary boots, and anything at all will not be useful anymore.

Leather panel master class

For a panel with your own hands, you need to prepare the following items:

  • The main material, i.e. leather for the manufacture of panels.
  • A frame for your masterpiece.
  • Burlap, which will be the background.
  • A twig that will be a vine.
  • Gun with glue.
  • Paraffin candle.
  • Blanks (templates) of grape leaves and berries.
  • Oilcloth / polyethylene.
  • Scissors, pencil, tweezers.

You also need to use your glue gun carefully. Use a pair of tweezers when you need to use a candle. The room needs to be ventilated after the candle procedure.

cvety_iz_kozhi_svoimi_rukami_1

Frame making

You need to cut the base out of cardboard. Its size is determined solely by the back of the frame that you preferred for the panel. Based on the dimensions of the cardboard base, you need to cut a piece of fabric / burlap. The resulting piece is glued to the cardboard, for which you need to carefully grease its edges with glue.

40x50

The cardboard, which turned out to be tightly wrapped with a cloth, must be inserted into the frame and secured with studs. That's all, the frame is ready.

Panels made of leather with their hands

As for the templates, it is better to make them from thick paper. You can find ready-made templates on the Internet and apply the pattern directly to the skin using them. Try to save material at the same time.

0760716a-6fd8-489e-9179-a40dc13b98ee

Then you should cut out the right amount of grape leaves with berries. Use a cutter to apply streaks to the resulting leaves. In this case, you need to be very careful not to make too deep cuts.

359220ec-321d-4527-8fd7-a8fc8ff59005

Leaves need to be processed on a candle and veins open. Along each of them, you need to fold the leaf in half. Seamy sides to each other. After that, clamp this fold with tweezers, then process it with a candle. Do this quickly so that the fiery tongue barely touches the fold.

After the veins are open, the edges of the sheet need to be processed, then slightly bent. Process the berries in the same way.

derevo_ramka_u

When all the details are ready, assemble the panels. Prepare all the details you received, fold a bunch of grapes. Using a glue gun, glue the berries. Then a dry twig is glued.

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry Violin".

"Merry" violin. The size of the work without frame is 70 cm x 50 cm.

Now let's start describing the manufacturing process. To create paintings, you will need the following materials and tools: - Frame (with a depth of at least 1 cm) and a base for the painting; - Genuine leather and leatherette; - Aerosol paints: brown pearl, green, burgundy. - Gold acrylic paint; - Corrugated cardboard and thin cardboard; - Penoplex; - Floristic wire (or other) - 0.5mm; - Glue: "Moment" (any rubber), PVA, Polymer glue "Titanium", superglue; - Sandpaper; - Acetone; - Scissors, stationery knife.

First you need to draw or print on the printer the shape of the violins of the size we need. Cutting out paper templates. For the body of the violin itself, you can use both corrugated cardboard (4 pieces) and penoplex. We outline the templates on the selected material and cut out with a clerical knife. To make the violin a little more voluminous, glue the cardboard circles in the middle. We also glue the skin on cardboard (thin), and then on penoplex. When working with penoplex, I use only polymer glue ("titanium", "Strong", "Dragon").

Glued.

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry" Violin ".

To finish the sidewalls, glue the strips of leather (7cm wide) in half, and then glue them around the circumference of the violin.

Both paintings are inspired by sculptures by the great artist Fhilippe Guillerm. The master's wooden sculptures are bizarre and unusual. Musical instruments exactly repeat human actions and reproduce scenes from everyday life of people: holding hands, dancing, hugging, climbing a mountain, reading books ...

It is not always possible to find leather along the entire circumference of the violin, so the joints can be both below and above.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

We draw a neck on a penoplex. A very convenient material for such curved parts. We cut out the shape with a clerical knife, we also cut the corners with it.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

Then we take sandpaper and start sanding and smoothing. Here, as in all work, symmetry is very important.

That's what I did. photo 3

Cut off the detail from below (0.5-0.6 cm) with a clerical knife.

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry" Violin ".

Where the "Curl" will be, we build up the detail from below, consisting of corrugated cardboard and soft cardboard (or velvet paper).

Both paintings are inspired by sculptures by the great artist Fhilippe Guillerm. The master's wooden sculptures are bizarre and unusual. We glue the neck with leather on polymer glue.

Like this!

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

For "Curls" we make these leather rolls. We cut out a beveled strip of leather, about 20 cm long, 8 cm to 12 cm wide. Glue the strip so that the joint is in the middle from the inside, and then we twist it into a roll at the "Moment".

That's what I did. photo 4

On the part that we built up for the neck, we glue leather strips - 3 pcs (green ones are remnants from other works). Then we glue it over with leather, pressing in the recesses.

We twist, but don't glue it yet. We will glue together with the strings.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

To frame the violin, cut out strips of leather, approx. 1 cm, and glue a 0.5mm wire into them. We glue around the circumference of the violin, but this is not necessary.

Glued. Then we lay them evenly and tighten them with a wire. We will bend it all together.

Cut out (or draw) the decor from the printout and outline it on thin corrugated cardboard. Then we glue the skin to them and cut it out with reserves of 0.3-0.4 cm. Then we glue the Stock along the edge of the cardboard.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

In order to make a stand, we cut out such a blank from hard cardboard folded in half. We glue it together. We do not glue the lower parts 0.5 cm each, we will glue the stand to the violin on them.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

We glue it over with leather all at once, from 2 sides.

Pegs. Take a stick from a cotton swab and glue it with leather. The pegs themselves are made from strips of leather glued together in three layers. We glue the stick in the middle of the strip and glue its ends with superglue.

Let's focus on the background of the picture. The passport is made of corrugated cardboard, divided in half. The sides of the passport are 5.5 cm and 10.5 cm. We glue the passport with leather (Zhmurka) or curly leatherette. If you use leatherette, then you need to cut it from a single piece so as not to make joints.

In the work "Eternal Love" I have an old scroll as a background. For the heart-eye, I made decoupage on white skin. Thin the printout with adhesive tape and glue it to the skin with PVA.

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry" Violin ".

I also made a printout for the scroll itself - a double one (notes and a color image). There was a little skin missing, so I made a cut under the violins. Made a decoupage on this skin. Cut out and singed the edges. I twisted the upper corners, and glued the lower part to the foil tube. Along the edges I inserted singed strips of leather, twisted into a roll.

The frame around the scroll is made of any leather. We glue on the "Moment" in the blind man's buff technique immediately to the background of the picture. Then paint with brown pearl spray paint. The seal hanging from the scroll is a circle of cardboard pasted over with burgundy leather. I made my initials with a burner and then rubbed the seal with acetone.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

We glue the passport to the background of the picture, glue the scroll and the heart. Next, we glue the base with the frame. I glue on "Titan" or "Moment" -Crystal. And last of all we glue the violins to the background with superglue. The picture is ready!

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

It is not necessary to throw away old jackets and bags that have been preserved from time immemorial in my mother's closet. You can create leather paintings from this vintage. Small masterpieces that will bring warmth and a touch of individuality to the interior.

In order not to be disappointed, you first need to familiarize yourself with the principles of working with this material. Find out what tools you need. Pick up some simple lessons and practice a little.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Principles of working with leather

A panel made of leather can become a stylish and unusual decoration of the furnishings of any home. For work, bags, jackets, gloves, hats, tops of boots that have served their time are used. So they get a chance for a second life.

However, not all old things can go into business. There are limitations that are inherent in the material itself.

Points to remember when choosing a working material:

  1. It is best to use soft, well-dressed leather. It is flexible and takes the desired shape well.
  2. Places with decorative details are not suitable: seams, rivets, bindings.
  3. Old, damaged, discolored skin is not suitable. It will spoil the appearance of the decorative item.

The wrong material can have a bad influence on the results. Therefore, it is better to dwell on soft, well-made raw materials.

Before you start making leather crafts with your own hands, beginners need to study and master the methods of working with it. By sticking to the rules, you can get amazing things.

Work principles:

  1. For each small masterpiece, the raw materials of the required type are selected. For example, for jewelry - thin leather from gloves.
  2. If the work experience is not enough, then it is better to first make the details or its pattern on cheap fabric.
  3. For cutting out, the pattern is placed on the seamy side of the workpiece. A regular ballpoint pen is used to outline the path.
  4. Paired parts must be cut in the same direction.
  5. You cannot chip parts with pins. Holes and traces of damage will remain
  6. Sometimes the workpieces have to be given the required thickness. The process is called roughing. It is better to do this first on separate pieces or scraps, which are not a pity to spoil.

Over time, these things will be done automatically.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

Leather processing

There are special techniques for treating pieces of leather. For example, relief embossing - it is important to pay attention to the thickness and structure of the material.

Processing types:

  1. Cold stamping. For workpieces with a smooth surface, from 0.7 mm to 1.3 mm thick. Previously, a pattern is drawn on the template, along which holes are then cut with a knife along the edges.
  2. Hot stamping. For material with a thickness of 1.5 to 4 mm. It is carried out using special heated metal dies. They press on the workpiece, which takes the required shape.

Most often, blanks for flowers are subjected to such processing. Metal stamps are made handicraft or bought ready-made.

That's what I did. photo 12

Techniques of work

There are also a lot of nuances when creating original jewelry and paintings. Panels and jewelry are so diverse that you will constantly have to include several types of leather in your work. Apply different techniques.

Popular and simple techniques:

  1. Origami. With its help, simple shapes are obtained. They look aesthetically pleasing and impressive.
  2. Application. A standard technique that connects disparate elements into a single composition.
  3. Mosaic. Quite unexpected for a panel.
  4. Auxiliary decoration: metal, burning, oil paints, beads.

The best effect is achieved when all of these techniques are combined with each other. By combining different elements and technologies, craftsmen achieve completely unexpected results.

Also, finished parts will need to be painted. Usually, nitro paint from spray cans is used for this. But the ideal option would be special oil paints for artists. They can create colorful transitions. Products will look more interesting, vibrant and realistic.

The leatherworkers have a secret: the solutions with which the products are specially etched.

For example, iron sulfate is used to obtain a gray tint. For brown - soda ash. The solutions are applied to the surface of the products with a soft squirrel brush, then the transition of shades will be smoother.

Finished products are additionally processed to give them a more interesting look. Flowers are impregnated with gelatin several times. Other products are varnished for furniture in several layers.

Both paintings are inspired by sculptures by the great artist Fhilippe Guillerm. The master's wooden sculptures are bizarre and unusual. Musical instruments exactly repeat human actions and reproduce scenes from people's everyday life: holding hands, dancing, hugging, climbing a mountain, reading books ...

How to make a painting out of leather

A master class will help to create pictures from leather with your own hands.

It is quite easy to make a panel. It is important not to deviate from the work algorithm and adhere to the requirements that dictate the characteristics of the material.

The basic steps include:

  1. Sketch creation.
  2. Making templates. They are made for each element. Cut from durable cardboard. If they are connected to give volume, then no additional operations are required.
  3. Patterns are applied to the material and traced and cut with scissors. To add volume, the original template is cut with a margin. This template allowance is attached to the surface of the base. This creates volume.
  4. The template is glued to the skin. An allowance must be made.
  5. The element is cut along the contour.
  6. The material for the base (burlap, satin, mesh) is pulled over the finished frame.
  7. The elements are attached to the textile base. This is done with a glue gun.
  8. With the help of a candle, the edges of other parts are scorched. After they are also attached to the base.

These are the main stages of work. Others are used as needed.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Required tools and materials

When creating decorative leather crafts, special devices should be prepared. There is no need for machines and expensive professional tools.

Everything you need is available in handicraft shops:

  • cuts of skin;
  • background textiles;
  • tailor's scissors;
  • tweezers;
  • a simple pencil or pen;
  • frame;
  • paraffin candle;
  • glue (PVA or "Moment");
  • glue gun;
  • film;
  • cardboard or ready-made templates and blanks;
  • punch tubes and punch tongs, for a start they can be replaced with an ordinary awl;
  • material for additional elements.

Burlap is usually used as a background. It is cheap and durable.

While ordinary scissors can chew and stretch the skin, tailors cut it.

It is also desirable to have a construction knife with replaceable blades.

You also need to prepare your desktop. Good lighting is required to make paintings and decorations.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

flower composition

First you need to make flowers. It will not be difficult even for a beginner.

Step-by-step method of making a flower:

  1. 3 patterns of different sizes are cut out of cardboard. Small petals - 3 cm, medium - 4 cm, large - 5 cm.
  2. They are placed on a piece of skin and the contours of the petals are traced along them. There should be 15 different sizes in total.
  3. A round piece is being prepared, which will be the base of the flower.
  4. The details are cut out.
  5. On the inside, each petal is smeared with PVA glue, then compressed into small folds or twisted into flagella for 4-5 minutes. Due to this, they become compressed.
  6. Leaves are made in the same way.
  7. Petals and leaves are glued to the mug with Moment glue.
  8. To decorate the middle of the flower, you can cover a button with leather, decorating it with rhinestones or beads.
  9. The button is attached to the center of the flower.

Such flowers can be glued to the picture in a predetermined sequence. Or leave them as single jewelry, costume jewelry.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Traditional tea roses are made using a slightly different technique. You will need 20 blanks of petals. 10 small and 10 large.

Step by step making rosebuds:

  1. Above the candles, the petals warm up, each is shaped.
  2. One of the blanks is glued from the seamy side and twisted into a "sausage". This is the middle.
  3. The rest of the petals are gradually glued to the central part. First the smallest, then the largest.

After drying, the finished buds are painted. They can be used both separately (brooches, hairpins, flowers, necklaces), and also make up paintings and compositions.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Callas

A large metal stamp will be needed to shape the crafts. To make a composition with calla lilies, patterns of flowers and leaves are first made.

Step by step method:

  1. For a bouquet, make 5 patterns for 3 large and 2 small flowers. They are cut from a thin husky.
  2. You will need a special wire. It is put into the fold of the skin along the edge of the calla, thus, the shape will be retained.
  3. The leaves are made from thicker leather. From the edges they are burned with a candle. On the inside, along the middle, grease with glue and bend along the sheet. From the outside, in the place of gluing, several times hold with the blunt side of a knife heated on fire or a tool with a wheel, which is called a "gurgle-wheel". Thus, the leaves look like real ones, with a vein in the middle.
  4. Now the finished parts can be painted with acrylic paints. It should be noted that before painting it is necessary to degrease the surfaces with alcohol. Then the paint will lay down evenly.
  5. Calla pistils are made from cotton swabs. A cotton wool is wound on them with fingers moistened with PVA glue. Then she sinks into yellow paint. After drying, orange or red dots are applied to the pistils for greater similarity.
  6. A large heated stamp is placed in the middle of the flower and a depression is made. Then a piece of foam rubber is placed in the middle and a pestle is attached to it. The edges of the flower are wrapped. After the glue dries, they are varnished.
  7. The composition is assembled and glued to the fabric base.

After assembly, the panel can be tinted. For this, they take pearl and gold paints. Varnish is applied on top. After drying, the finished composition is inserted into the frame.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

Venice

For beginners, this work will be quite difficult due to the large variety of details. Previously, it is worth mastering master classes on making flowers (lilies, asters) and leaves and already from them to collect part of the picture.

You will also need the skills of covering various items with leather: plastic vases, a pot and a mirror frame. They are needed to make a vase, a jewelry box, a Venetian mirror for the center of the composition. Feather-making skills will come in handy.

It is necessary to make the following composition details separately.

Mask

Traditional women's Venetian half masks are called "Columbine":

  1. For a picture, a part 20 cm wide is needed. First, it is cut out of paper, then a blank is made of cardboard.
  2. Then there is leatherette pasting. The front side is covered with light leather edged with a glued strip of black leather, inside which a wire is glued (diameter 0.5 mm).
  3. After the mask is almost ready, you need to decorate it.

The Venetian style is bright, striking, flashy. Therefore, everything will do - beads, leftover jewelry, rhinestones.

Vase

Made from a simple plastic bowl cut across:

  1. The bottom is cut off. Two parts are obtained, which are put on top of each other and glued. Thread spools and a regular water funnel become the base and neck of the vase.
  2. All missing forms are filled with self-solidifying mass and foil. After drying, the base is pasted over with leather. Not necessarily whole, pieces will do.
  3. Handles are made of wire (diameter 1 mm), which is first pasted over with waste leather, and on top with normal. The ends are tightened with pliers. Glued with superglue.
  4. The decor is also made of wire wrapped in strips of leather (wire diameter 0.5 mm, width of leather strips 0.7 mm).

After adding decorative corrugated details, the vase can be sprayed with spray paints.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

Lily flowers for a bouquet

For work, light skin is taken, which is subsequently painted:

  1. First, lily petals are cut out of cardboard. Size - 12 cm x 18 cm, wavy edges. One flower needs 6 petals. Patterns are outlined and cut out.
  2. For convenience, the middle is immediately drawn. This makes it more convenient to glue the stamen wire.
  3. On the seamy side, a wire is glued in from the edge (diameter 0.5 mm). Then attach the wire along the edge of the petals.
  4. The middle is made from pieces of 5 cm x 6 cm. The pestle is a plastic pasted over with a material from a cotton swab.
  5. A loop is made on a floristic wire (diameter 1 mm) at one end and then the middle, the pestle and the wire are twisted together and glued.
  6. For stamens, thin strips of skin 11.5 cm long are cut out per flower. Only 5 pieces. Pieces of wire are glued into them, the edges are twisted.

The flower is going. The petals are bent and glued to the middle. They can be painted in advance or after gluing.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Buds

At the base of the buds there is solid foam rubber covered with pieces of leather cut out according to patterns. A wire is glued inside.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

Leaves

Equipment:

  1. Leaf blanks are prepared in different sizes. This makes them look livelier.
  2. The templates are traced on the leather and cut out.
  3. Then in the middle they are coated with glue, folded in half.
  4. The seam outside is "rolled" with your fingers for naturalness.
  5. The wire is inserted, the edges are pasted over.
  6. Then the wire is bent around the edges, crushing the leaf.

After they are colored.

Window background

It is drawn on cardboard covered with a piece of leatherette with acrylic paints. A suitable picture is selected and printed. Then it is drawn onto the base.

A semi-arch is made of corrugated cardboard. From above, it is pasted over with hard cardboard. On top of the arch, a decor of two stripes, cut with corrugated scissors, is glued. Then it is tinted. After drying, it is glued.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Mirror

It is made on the basis of a regular one bought in a store. The mirror is disassembled. Details are pasted over with leather, decorative items and painted. To preserve the mirror itself, it is covered with cardboard before painting, then the protection is removed.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

Casket

It is based on an ordinary small plastic jar:

  1. A synthetic winterizer is placed on the bottom and pasted over from the inside with material.
  2. The exterior decoration is done using the same technique.
  3. The lid is made in the same way.
  4. Corrugated scraps make an excellent decor.

The lid is decorated with a button covered with decoupage leather.

Pen

First it is drawn on paper. Approximately 6 cm wide, 24 cm long. The workpiece is applied, traced and a template is cut out.

The middle is coated with glue and a wire (diameter 1 mm) is glued in the middle. Folds in half and shrinks well. The veins are carefully done with a burner.

For a greater decorative effect, the side part is painted over with aerosol paints.

The inkwell is made from an ordinary salt shaker. From above it is covered with material and decorative details are applied.

Striped curtains are made from pieces of colored leather glued together. Fringe - from ready-made pieces of an old bag. If those were not at hand, then you can do without it. The tablecloth is made in the same way.

Background with imitation of wallpaper - drawings with paints on leatherette. Stand for decorative details - two strips of corrugated cardboard, decorated with green leather. For greater expressiveness, pieces of foam rubber are inserted along the edges.

All these details are collected against the background of a leatherette window, which depicts a view of Venice.

They can be swapped. There is an opportunity to bring your own interesting developments into the picture. Complete creative freedom.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Leather bracelet

Beginners can make themselves a stylish and simple leather bracelet in 2 hours.

To implement the idea, you need:

  1. First, you need to print the bracelet template, adjusting it to the size of the future owner's wrist.
  2. Print on thick paper and cut out.
  3. Apply to skin and draw around with a pen. It is best to first stick masking tape on this area of the material, and draw a stroke of the template on top. It will turn out much neater and there will be no traces of colored paste on the finished product.
  4. The bracelet blank is carefully cut along the contours. It is most convenient to do this first with a knife, and then touch up with nail scissors with rounded edges.
  5. Scotch tape is removed. The decoration is almost ready.

To make the bracelet fit nicely and tightly on your hand, you can process it a little.

Immerse in water for a minute, where the temperature is not more than 45 ° C. Then take out and wrap the glass bottle with the product. Wrap with microfiber cloth or cloth, fix. You can simply tie it with thick twine or tape.

After a few hours, the bracelet can be removed and the accessories purchased in advance can be attached. At both ends we punch holes for it with an awl. A clasp is attached on one side, and a chain on the other. Everything, the original decoration is ready.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Brooch

You can create a brooch in the shape of a chrysanthemum from thin high-quality suede in a few hours. The manufacturing technique is elementary. Even a child can handle it.

The scheme of work step by step:

  1. A piece of suede is cut into 4 strips of different widths. The next one is about a quarter wider than the previous one.
  2. Then a fringe is cut on each of the resulting pieces, leaving about 5-7 mm to the edge.
  3. PVA glue is diluted with water (proportions 1 to 2).
  4. Cut fringed strips are placed in the resulting solution and soaked there. Then the blanks are carefully squeezed out in a paper towel and put to dry. No need to straighten the fringe. It is better if it dries free.
  5. After drying, the gluing process begins.
  6. First, the narrowest workpiece is taken, coated with hot pistol glue and carefully twisted. As soon as it ends, the next one starts spinning from above.
  7. The resulting chrysanthemum base is measured and a circle of the required size is cut from another piece of leather. Hot glue is applied to it and attached to the base. A metal clasp is glued on.

Hair ornament is made in a similar way. But then two cuts are made on the sides of the base mug, where the elastic is passed. In this case, it will not deform the base. First, the gum is glued, and then the circle.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Decorative panel

Beginners can independently make a volumetric panel from pieces in the form of an evening city.

Despite the external complexity, the technique of work is elementary:

  1. First, primitive houses are drawn. The picture can even be downloaded from the Internet. Then each house is translated into tracing paper. Templates are made from cardboard. In order not to get confused, it is better to number each detail. The number of houses is exclusively the good will of the artist. The leather is cut with allowances.
  2. Pieces of leather are glued onto the part with Moment glue and bent from the inside.
  3. The details of the houses are attached to the base (fabric, cardboard or leather) as in the sketch. Then, with the help of flagella, the silhouettes of the roofs are pasted over.
  4. For the road, a piece of leather is taken, it is well moistened, then squeezed out (while it is deformed) and glued to the bottom of the picture in a crumpled form.
  5. Instead of a frame along the contour, a drapery is also made of crumpled huskies, you can also have a different color.

And then paints are already taken. Windows, doors, small details (wood, chimney with smoke, a couple of cats in love on the roof) are drawings with acrylic paints. Imagination is limitless here. After the paint layer has dried, the work is varnished.

Video

From this video you can learn how to make a simple volumetric panel from pieces of leather.

In this master class, we will make a very beautiful and unusual picture of genuine leather with a night moon with our own hands.

That's what I did. photo 13

As in the last time when we did the painting "Marina" we need skin trimming. This time we will only use black leather.

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry" Violin ".

We disassemble the frame, my size is 30x45. The frame is wooden and I will have to paint it black. It is easier to use a finished coated frame.

Draw a sketch of the future painting on the basis. To do this, we divide the picture into three parts. The upper two parts will be occupied by the moon. The lower part is water and shore. Cut out an incomplete circle from cardboard and glue it in place of the moon.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

All! Now we are working with the skin. We use the glue for a moment, coat the skin well with glue.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

From scraps of black leather we make waves using the blind man's buff technique. We glue the entire lower part.

That's what I did. photo 14

We glue the moon over with a piece of leather. Press the edges well to make the moon stand out.

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry" Violin ".Now we make a forest belt on the horizon also from scraps of leather.

Musical instruments exactly repeat human actions and reproduce scenes from people's everyday life: holding hands, dancing, hugging, climbing a mountain, reading books ...

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

The shore is ready!

Let's liven up the picture by adding a tree to the right of the moon. To do this, we will make several leather harnesses. And we will designate foliage with scraps of skin.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather. For gluing elements on the skin, it is better to use a super glue gel.

That's what I did. photo 15

We did it! Now for the fun part. Let's prepare quick-drying acrylic spray paints.

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry" Violin ".

Be careful. In the summer, work can be done outdoors. Paints have an odor and must be ventilated when spraying. Prepare a cake lid, disposable plate, or any other round object. And also we need a compressed sheet of any paper for applying a pattern on raw paint.

All! We turn on the imagination and boldly paint the way we want.

I applied white paint to the moon and water. Further blue and blue.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet. Then again it is white in places, and here it is necessary to walk with compressed paper on the moon. There is always black paint under your hands, with which you can paint over excess. Do not apply too thick layers. The paint can crack on the skin.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.Cover the finished moon with a cake lid and gently make a glow around the moon along the very edge.

That's what I did. photo 16

Let it dry and tint the flaws. I slightly made the stars. They are made by applying a little white paint to a piece of cardboard and simply brushed off onto the canvas. The main thing here is not to overdo it and not to pour too much.

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry" Violin ".

Try, fantasize. I'm sure you can do it. The picture will be similar, but certainly different, no less beautiful, and maybe even better.

Do not forget to spray the painting in order to set the paint.

We are waiting for the picture to dry completely. We put on the frame.

We admire the work!

A gift for your beloved or friend is ready!

Take a look! On the moon, I see the outline of a face! And you?

Here is such a play of colors! I named the painting "Night".

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

In addition, a small video master class on the painting "Night".

I hope the master class was useful to you!

I would be grateful for your likes and reposts.

Good luck with your creativity!

Paintings made of natural or artificial leather are a great way to decorate your interior. They, made by hand, are an original gift for mom, for example, for the 8th of March. To create a still life “Bouquet. Callas ”will be needed: thick cardboard, self-adhesive paper, pieces of leather or its substitute, yellow yarn, waterproof glue, toothpicks, wire and scissors. At the beginning of the work, you need to make a paper pattern. In the album, draw the required number of petals and leaves. We choose an arbitrary size of the parts, corresponding to the parameters of the base from the cardboard base.

That's what I did. photo 17

We transfer paper patterns to the skin, cut out parts of the flower.

Cut off the end of the thread. The stamen is ready.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

We continue to work with the petals. Glue a piece of wire along the edges of the leather. In the future, this action will make it easier to give the flower or leaves the desired shape.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

We get the result.

That's what I did. photo 18

The top of the workpiece must be carefully cut off, that is, remove excess skin. We leave the wire at the base. We glue the stamen in the middle of the petal and use a wire to wrap the edges of the flower inward.

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry" Violin ".

You should get these buds.

At the next stage, we give the leaves a relief shape. To do this, apply glue along the pattern and bend the sheet in half.

Leave the central vein to dry.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

Other veins can be distinguished in the same way. If desired, glue the wire along the edges of the pattern and get a convex sheet shape.

That's what I did. photo 19

Moving on to the bottom of the picture. We decorate the surface of the cardboard with a self-adhesive film. There was no single piece of film, so we carefully work with two strips.

When the background is ready, add details. We evaluate the overall picture from a distance. It may well be necessary to add or subtract the number of colors, change their arrangement.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Attention! The crucial moment is the coloring of the stems and leaves. When creating a picture from leather, craftsmen usually use acrylic paint. Here it is not an ordinary professional case, but an amateur performance. We will use gouache and watercolor. To prevent the paint from being taken in hand, we prepare a solution for it from water, vinegar and salt (2: 1: 1). We wet the brush and paint in the leatherette.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

Leave the leaves to dry for 8-12 hours.

It turned out well, right? At the final stage, we glue the parts to the base. We start with flowers and stems.

By the way, we forgot to tell you about the frame. We will make it from leather rectangles. First, we cut into pieces about 0.5x1.5 cm in size. Then we make strips with scissors, imitating a fringe.

We begin to glue the frame from the lower right corner, gradually moving up.

We style the bottom and top borders. Finish off by gluing the fringe to the left edge of the cardboard base. The frame is ready.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

It remains to add to the colors of the leaves. We choose the most successful location for the greenery and take up the glue. Attention! The flame will help to make the surface of the skin embossed. If you hold the edges or middle of the petal over the fire, raised bumps will appear. With leatherette, this trick will not work.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

So, all the details are dry. This is the picture from leatherette “Bouquet. Callas ".

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

Simple and original. Mom or girlfriends will definitely like the picture.

Then you should cut out the right amount of grape leaves with berries. Use a cutter to apply streaks to the resulting leaves. In this case, you need to be very careful not to make too deep cuts.

Panels made of leather with their hands

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry Violin".

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

That's what I did. photo 23

Technique for making paintings from leather

To read the article to the end, go to the next page below

Every home has an old leather bag, jacket, wallet or trousers. It can be a pity to throw it away, because natural material is expensive, and it is quite possible to give it a second life. Some people use leather strips to create brooches, bracelets, earrings, or sew covers for tablets and e-books.

Genuine leather is considered a very pliable and comfortable material for needlework. The products are durable and effective.

If you have a creative nature and skillful hands, then you can create beautiful paintings from leather with your own hands. Wall panels can be made both flat, by the type of application, and voluminous or embossed. As additional means of translating ideas, the master can use pieces of natural fur, thin leather laces, ribbons and a dense base for attaching crafts. Paintings decorated in carved wooden frames will look beautiful.

The article tells how to make paintings from leather with your own hands, what material is needed for this, it is described step by step for novice craftsmen how to work with leather, what tools you need to have. The manufacturing technology of such panels requires the necessary knowledge and skills. You can start with simple flat paintings using multi-colored leather ribbons.

What you need to have to work with leather

  1. Leather. You can pick up colorful patches, but the material also stains well.
  2. To create volumetric elements, you need PVA glue.
  3. To connect the leather parts with each other, a stronger glue is used, for example, Moment or Crystal superglue. It should be transparent so as not to leave stains on the surface of the parts. A glue gun will work too.
  4. Strips or patches can be dyed with a universal dye for fabrics and leather, as well as with acrylic paints and aerosols.
  5. Thin or floral wire to add volume to the elements of the picture made of leather. With your own hands, you can make an ornament or mosaic with it.
  6. Scissors or a sharp utility knife.
  7. Pencil and cardboard for templates.
  8. A bowl of water.
  9. Building hair dryer.
  10. Curved tools such as metal balls, sticks or a flute cutter.

Beginning of work

Before making a picture of leather with your own hands, you need to decide on the image. For beginners, you can try to make a small flower with leaves around the bud, placing the picture in a small photo frame. Think over the basis for the image. It can be thick cardboard, fiberboard or thin plywood. Be sure to treat the surface with paint, cover with fabric or make a background of leather.

Also, to complete the flower, you will need templates so that all the petals are the same size. For this, thick cardboard and a simple pencil will come in handy. It is recommended to start making a picture of leather with your own hands by making a light but spectacular flower.

Sample for beginners

To make such an element for the panel, two identical long strips of leather are harvested, bent in half. The folded edge is cut into thin "noodles", but not completely, so as not to break the part. Leave 0.5 cm to glue the strip. Then the workpieces are twisted into a circle and the edges of the strips are connected with hot glue. The same manipulation is performed with the second strip of skin. When both parts are dry, they are combined overlapping each other. Thus, the flower will turn out to be more voluminous.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

The middle, which has a small hole, needs to be beautifully decorated. For this, a thin leather cord of a contrasting color is best suited. It is wound around the beginning in a spiral and attached to an adhesive base in the center of the flower. It remains only to make identical carved leaves according to the template and attach crafts from below. To create a picture of leather with your own hands (the photo of the flower above in the article), you can make three or five of these colors, and place them over the entire surface of the plywood base. The finished look of the panel will receive after registration in a wooden frame.

How to make curled and grooved petals

To make a flower consisting of individual petals, you need to draw a template on cardboard and circle it with a gel pen on the back of the material. Then, with sharp scissors, cut out the elements in the required amount. So that the suede fringe does not peep out at the edges, they need to be scorched with a candle or a lighter.

A flower will look beautiful, in which the petals will be slightly twisted upwards. How to make such elements for a picture of leather with your own hands (photo below), read on.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

In order for the corrugation to remain voluminous, you need to steam or soak in a bowl of water before working with a metal tool with a ball at the end of the part. Then, pushing well and drawing stripes from the central point to the edges, make grooves. To dry the parts, you can simply set them aside until morning in a warm place. If you need to quickly dry the petals, use a powerful building hair dryer.

Making a rose

It is interesting to make a picture / panel made of leather with your own hands from roses. To twist each flower, cut to 12 identical elements. Detailed manufacturing can be clearly seen in the photo below.

That's what I did. photo 28

To keep the petals neat and slightly wrapped in the middle, you need to singe them in turn with a candle or a lighter. The work begins by twisting the central element. He wraps himself tightly in a tube. For gluing, the lower part is smeared with either thick PVA glue or hot glue using a glue gun. Each next detail wraps around the previous one. The top edge curves outward to make the rose petals look as natural as possible. The petals are arranged with a shift around the center, then they will open evenly in all directions. If the bottom is uneven, that's okay. It is very easy to align it with scissors.

First, the leaves are attached to the base of the picture from pieces of leather, and only then the flower itself. Elements that are curved or with corrugated edges will look beautiful. You already know how to do them.

Lilies with veins in the middle

In the picture below, you need to make original lily petals from ribbons and leather with your own hands. As you can see in the photo, there is a thin vein in the center of each element. Let's focus on how to achieve this performance.

Greetings to all Masters and Craftswomen who are passionate about creativity. Today, I present to you one MK for two pictures at once. The first is called "Eternal Love", the second I called "The Merry" Violin ".

The petals are cut out according to the template with scissors. Using the previously known scheme, we singe the edges so that the suede fringe is not visible. In the center of the part, from the sharp upper corner downward, draw a strip with glue and apply a thin wire on top of it. Then, with hands, the skin is pressed around on both sides. You will have to hold the part tightly for some time until the glue sets. Light folds will look interesting at the bottom of each petal. If such decorative elements are planned, then before the wire for the vein is formed, it is necessary to soak or steam the part cut out according to the template, and press it with your hands in the right places. Once completely dry, start working with the wire.

Flower coloring

To get a beautiful flower, the lily needs to be colored. To effectively perform the task, spray paints are used. First, the skin is completely sprayed with white, then only the middle is painted with yellow paint. The very edges of the skin can be darkened with brown by first applying it on a cotton swab. Small dots are made on the petals with its end part. You can take a toothpick for such a delicate work.

Draped flower

You can make a picture of leather and fur with your own hands using the drapery method. For this, a pattern of a whole flower with six or seven petals is drawn. Then you need to soak the workpiece well in a bowl of warm water and wrinkle it with your hands so that excess air comes out. Then the skin is removed from the container and laid out on the table. Use your fingers to create creases in the material in the right places, pressing it firmly on both sides. When dry, the shape of the part will remain wrinkled. The photo in the article shows that ordinary pins with a ring at the end are used to fix the material.

Draperies can also be done on a large piece of leather for the background covering the base of the picture from ribbons and leather. They crush wet material with their own hands, squeezing it in strips, stars or rays. A flower from several blanks will look beautiful. The middle is filled with strips, one edge of which is cut with "noodles".

Faux leather painting

With their own hands, masters make paintings not only from natural material, crafts from leatherette also look great. Consider a flat painting of chanterelles. You can make any character in this way. First, a figure is drawn on a piece of cardboard. In the absence of artistic talent, it is easy to find a suitable image on the Internet. The printed sheet is divided into separate uneven stripes and the elements are colored with colored pencils. So you will immediately see what will be the result of the application.

I think many of you have seen his work on the internet.

Then all parts are cut with scissors. Pay attention to the presented picture of the painting. It can be seen that all the joints of the parts are rounded. The only difficulty in making such a panel is the processing of the edges of the leather. To keep them smooth without sharp edges, add 0.5 mm on each side when cutting out elements. Then all the details along the edge are coated with PVA or "Kristall" glue and bent inward. Therefore, at the edges, all parts are rounded. After drying, you can already assemble a picture from them. It looks original, resembles a mosaic.

Embossing on leather

Paintings made from a single piece of leather look spectacular if they are embossed with patterns or objects. For work, you need a wire, a bowl of warm water, any desired item. This can be a pair of scissors or a pistol, a toy beetle, or a simple fork.

And I did not remain indifferent, so I wanted to embody his ideas in leather.

First, soak the material well by holding it in a bowl. Then lay it out on the surface of the table on the selected volumetric object and press down with force so that the skin "hugs" it from all sides. It's okay if small "wrinkles" appear around. Stroking movements are performed with fingers and the whole hand. Use a building hairdryer to maintain shape. If this is not possible for you, then press down the object tightly, placing a bag of sand on top. It is better to do this work at night. In 12 hours the leather will dry out and the embossing will remain for a long time. The photo in the article shows how beautiful the big beetle turned out. After drying, the leather must be painted, highlighting the embossing in a different color.

Wire ornament

Another painting technique uses wire as an additional material. First, the necessary patterns or ornament are twisted from it. Then a sheet of genuine leather is soaked in warm water and laid on top of the wire. Then smooth the material with your hands. After the embossing is clearly manifested, the leather is dried, or covered with oppression.

That's what I did. photo 29

The article discusses how to make pictures from leather with your own hands for beginners. The described techniques for making colors and methods of working with the material will help you to cope with the task faster. Happy creative ideas!
